Whole pods are our most popular item. They are hard as wood and weigh anywhere from 125 to about 200 grams. They vary in length from approximately 6" to as large as 10". When shaken, you can often hear the seeds rattle inside. You can not plant the pods nor the seeds inside to grow a cocoa plant, you need live seeds from a fresh pod to grow seedlings. We do not ship live items as they will rot in transit and be stopped by agricultural authorities. Click on the image to see pods with a ruler.

If you have seen a video about growing your own cocoa plants, This company only sells fully grown dried pods, That you can NOT plant. If you want to plant from seed you must have an unripe pods, Greenish in color and not hard and seeds must not be shaking inside. The video we say gave us this site and for what we paid for shipping was a total waste. We live in the U.S.A. and Unripe pods can not be shipped to use, and no where does it say this, nor will they offer a refund.
We try to be clear on the site that the pods are fully dried and are NOT for planting. You can only plant fresh, live cocoa seeds, not dried seeds. We try to make it clear that the pods are FULLY DRIED and hard as wood-therefore, the beans are not appropriate for planting. Nor can you plant dried cocoa beans, as they have been fermented, thus killing them. At no point did the client request a refund for their items-also, we do our best to make it abundantly clear before purchasing that the seeds and pods are not for planting. Thank you for your review, and we hope it will make it clear to other clients that neither the pods, nor the seeds are viable for planting.
